Kraft, who died shortly before an unlikely season that ends Feb. 5 in Indianapolis against the same New York Giants who derailed New England’s historic 18-0 season on Feb. 3, 2008.

Even now Shank can't admit he was wrong about the Patriots defense - "they lost three of their first eight games, gave up more yardage than almost every team in the NFL, and came into January portrayed as paper tigers...." Even then they were top-15 in fewest points allowed and were not allowing four-touchdown games - in contrast the Giants allowed five such games this season. And Shank should know football enough to know Sterling Moore's play was not pass interference.
