Oh, and that mop-top from Liverpool who used to be in a band known as the Beatles? Yes, Paul McCartney played Fenway, too.

Bases Touched
Today's Shank column treats us to a history of Fenway Park for events other than baseball games. It's a pretty interesting review of Fenway history, and I'm pretty sure Shank's been to a number of these events since he's been with the Globe.

This wasn't a bad column yesterday, good look back at the history of Fenway. I can just see Shank, down in the basement at the Globe, toiling long hours looking through years of microfilm and photo archives to find all this info.
The other possibility, of course, is that an intern did all this legwork, and he just threw it all together into a column while thinking about his next Belichick hatchet job ...
The picture of the Boston Beacons brought back different memories. When they folded, they sold off the uniforms for pennies on the dollar; these were the uniforms of Framingham South High School for the next 4-5 years.
