Like a little boy getting a flu shot, Beckett did his bit with the Mass(achusetts) media yesterday. He came in from his workout and sat before nine television cameras and dozens of microphones, and took questions from curious minds. He made it pretty clear that he won’t be crying about his contract all year.

Mark your calendars -- today's a day I actually agreed with Dan Shaughnessy snark.
Every other player on the Red Sox does the media appearances that are part of their job without nearly as much palpable reluctance and surliness as Josh. His act at press conferences has gotten pretty old.

That's part of his charms. He treats the Boston media exactly the same way they treat players in this town.
Plus, he's always seems to let an expletive slip by NESN during his post-game interviews. Now, that's entertainment!
