Dan and Hockey

Two tastes that don't go great together.

Dan uses all his hockey knowledge for this one, with references to Booby Orr, Cam Neely, and Patrick Roy (the last as part of a horrible joke). Part a look at Canadien fans storming the Garden, part game recap, this piece was awful. The writing was stilted as Dan abruptly shifted back and forth among themes. Some quotations from Montreal fans would have been nice instead of the obligatory Red Sox references.

He's no worse at writing about hockey than Kevin Paul Dupont is.

I should add they both suck.

I don't read Shank when he writes about the Red Sox, I sure as hell aren't going to read him when he writes about the Bruins.......Did he somehow work in his obligitory, " The Red Sox are more popular than the Patriots!" reference into his latest drivel?

Color me surprised that CHB actually attended a hockey game. I'm sure he didn't even attempt to talk to any of the players, because they're really big intimidating guys who carry sticks and wear blades on their feet and sweat profusely and would probably scare the shit out of him. Kinda like 20 Josh Becketts.

i doubt he really attended the game. he offered nothing that couldn't have been gathered from flipping channels between the bruins game and the red sox game, which is what i bet he did.

Darn, and I was so looking forward to Shank's breakdown of the Providence Bruins-Manchester Monarchs series starting Wednesday. And to think the AHL won't be able to get the manganimous, munificent writing flair of the greatest writer of our generation. Why does the NHL get all this fun???

;-)

This was without a doubt his best column ever! Did I mention I know nothing about hockey? Dan is a douche! I know that!
