better get used to Schilling, it's obvious that his 2nd career is going to be, PROFESSIONAL MEDIA BLOWHARD........gee, we need more of those around here (rolling eyes now).....oh well, I do like the fact he hates Shank
WEEI has confused luck with skill. They basically went on air around the time the Pats won their first SB. Then came the great '04 Sox season. Then more Super Bowls, another World Series, Celts last year. WEEI's ratings are a direct reflection of this. It will be interesting to see what happens if and, unfortunately, when all the major teams have lackluster seasons, all at the same time. Ordway, Wolfe and crew are arrogant fucks. We'll see what happens to their swagger when their ratings books are down several points.
I would rather a sports blowhard who actually was an athlete than one who just went to high school, goofed off for nine or ten years, and then decided to become one.
yeah, but you know what happens?....even former athletes eventually morph into run of the mill media blowhards....just look at the cast of former athletes on ESPN, they spew the same crap as your Shank's Felger's and Tomase's of the world.
I agree, if your going to become a "full fledged media member" you have to go along to get along....won't be long before Schilling starts doing the same stuff he chewed out Butch Stearns for doing....only a matter of time

ReplyDeleteAnyone think that Shank's next article will be about the Celtics getting back on track (back-to-back road wins, etc.)?
ReplyDeleteYeah, me neither...

ReplyDeleteCorrection: Entercom bought EEI in 1998.
ReplyDeleteI miss Glen and Janet
ReplyDeleteWEEI has been all sports for over fifteen years.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read it, but apparently Shank sticks up for Varitek. Ugh.

ReplyDeleteSchilling easily. He actually puts in real research and brings some actual insight. Don't compare Schilling to Shank - Shank is the blowhard.
ReplyDeleteAnyone see the clear correlation between the plummeting fortunes of the NYT/Boston Globe and the increased scarcity of OB on this blog?
