I Like Lists

And apparently Dan does, too. Dan flips through some histories of the Red Sox and gives us all the great Yankees-Red Sox moments at the Stadium.

Dan does his "work" in the opening, highlighted by a "Seinfeld" reference that was tired the day people started using it 14 years ago. There is a Clark Rockefeller reference to stay topical. It must have been killing Dan, sitting there on vacation, thinking "I have got this great Rockefeller quip. I hope that I am back writing before it becomes dated." Actually, upon reflection, I guess Dan wouldn't think like that.

  1. One hack down, we can only hope CHB follows suit.

  2. Mariotti is a hack too

Shaughnessy keeps coming back. I guess this is the result of two weeks of intense research? Of all his work, I tend to favor Shaughnessy's retrospectives but not this one. It is a list of stuff but it just doesn't resonate that deeply.

    Welcome back Shank (I think)

  3. The article's as inspiring as a Joe Biden speech...

  4. Speaking of Biden, he's about to speak at the convention. Get ready to be bored to death, or sign up for hairplug treatments...

  6. It was a suprisingly good speech, much more than I expected from one of the Senate's premier windbags.

That said, there were numerous contradictions therein, but since this isn't a political website, I will politely refrain from wasting the bandwidth of this site's proprietors on the savage fisking / beatdown Senator Biden so richly deserves, and that I would provide with ease and great relishment.

What does this have to do with Shank? Nothing! Since he's been AWOL, someone needs to fill in the gaps, right?

  7. Mariotti and Shaughnessy are old-school media hacks who just seethe at the very notion that Blogs and comments sections exist. That people can turn the fire hose around and point it straight back at them must irritate the hell out these 'angry & bitter' guys. As Anonymous said, 'One down...'

Thread over with that single sentence...

  9. Why does he constantly feel the need to make these proclamation and then do it repeatedly.

"The Yankees are pathetic. They are done. Stick a fork in them. It's not even fun anymore." blah blah blah.

He did it on his incredibly insightful video; he did it yesterday; and he does it again today. Go back on vacation.

  10. He also said the pitching match-ups don't favor the Sox in this series ... ya, been a rough first two games for the pitching staff.
